Gregory R. Russo is a licensed massage therapist and Fascial Stretch Techniques (FST) specialist dedicated to therapeutic massage and functional restoration. Guided by the credo “Do no harm,” Gregory blends intuition with evidence-based methods—integrating acupressure, deep tissue, sports massage, and injury-specific adaptations to help clients recover, regain mobility, and restore lasting balance. His work centers on the idea that true performance begins with proper function, and that movement and healing are inseparable.
With more than two decades of experience as a personal trainer and performance coach, Gregory bridges the space between manual therapy and movement practice. He helps clients move seamlessly from release and activation into strength development and resilience—bridging recovery with performance, wellness with longevity.
A former four-time NCAA men’s lacrosse champion at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts, Gregory continued to play competitively for over a decade with an alumni team honoring a fallen U.S. Marine. His lifelong commitment to athletic excellence led him to Olympic weightlifting, where—after earning his USA Weightlifting Level II certification—he was invited to join Team Connecticut as a competitive lifter. As a former speed coach for the Parisi Speed School in Miramar, San Diego, he trained youth and adult athletes to move with precision, purpose, and confidence.
Gregory now offers personal training and performance coaching at the La Jolla Recreation Center in the Village of La Jolla, where his passion for recovery and movement continues to connect the dots from the ground up—helping every client rest, recover, rejuvenate, and restore.
When he’s not coaching or providing bodywork, Gregory comes alive behind a drum kit. A professional musician in San Diego, he has performed with Grammy Award–winning artists and shared the stage with singers from American Idol and NBC’s The Voice. From intimate venues to the Sycuan Stage at Petco Park, he plays it all—funk, jazz, rock, soul—and on any given night, you might catch him entertaining San Diego with rhythm, energy, and a love for music that keeps him moving. Ask him about his latest gig—he might even challenge you to keep the beat!
